Cael Liakos-Gilbert ("kale") is a 33 year old filmmaker, photographer, and vfx specialist from San Francisco, CA.

Cael comes from a background of both tech and production, working with some of Silicon Valleys best and brightest, but also some of entertainments most talented and influential. He established deep roots in animation at an early age, where he attended San Francisco State University and became president of the SFSU Animation Society. From there he ventured into live-action production where he ultimately found success in vfx and immersive storytelling. He’s done just about everything from corporate promo’s and animated shorts, to commercial work and feature films. Working all over all over the globe in a litany of different environments, Cael has gained hardened industry experience working with dozens of different production partners and clients along the way.

Cael is a creator, inventor, builder and doer by nature. More than just your average gun-for-hire, Cael has developed a wide variety of traditional and immersive production skills across mediums like sports, documentary, drama, action, events, 360/VR, and others. Whether it’s a thousand person shoot or a one-man-army, he works well under pressure and maintains composure while remaining flexible and prepared for whatever production has in store. If something doesn't work, he’ll fix it, test it, and figure out a way to get it done.
Challenging, location-based shoots have molded a top-notch work ethic with knowledge and experience. With a wide range of tools at his disposal, he’ll tackle any creative or technical hurdle with enthusiasm and pride to help push the boundaries of storytelling.
